During the course of our lives we encounter many things; we may recall our first day at school.  A special event as we are growing up, a special award or achievement and so on.  We experience many ups and downs in our lives, but the one event that sets everything else apart is our wedding day.  This has to be the happiest day of your life for you and your partner.  To make your wedding day that extra special requires some careful planning including wedding centerpieces over the preceding few months.  A lot of that time is spent on the wedding reception, the part that makes it that extra special and romantic. The main focal point, and one of the hardest things to do is plan wedding centerpieces when decorating the reception hall. 

Wedding centerpieces add so much to the reception, being the most lavish part of the wedding.  The wedding reception is the place you and your partner will have a wonderful time spent with family and friends.  Eat a carefully selected meal with a few drinks to celebrate your wedding.

At the planning stage of your reception, centerpieces can be made your requirements by professional florists or wedding centerpiece specialists, but can be very expensive.  Being experts, you will hope they get it right on your special day.  You can get cheap floral centerpieces to lower your overall costs from florists or local stores, even less if you could make them yourself. If you take the time needed in making them, you can use items you already have at home or can be obtained for free or little cost.  You may have a family member or friend who would willingly do all the wedding centerpieces etc. for you.  It often comes down to your budget, to have centerpieces prepared professionally or make your own.  One thing to remember if you provide your own centerpieces you are totally in control, you know what they are going to look like in advance and are not dependant on others to get it right on your special day. 

Make Your Own Wedding Centerpieces 

If you choose to make your own, there many themes you can choose from, just remember to consider the time of the year your wedding will take place, your centerpiece may have to be seasonal.  You can easily get great ideas and guidance on how to create the perfect centerpiece from books or the internet, something that is elegant and easy to make, particularly on a tight budget.  A few ideas could be filling glass vases or jars with a range of fruits carefully arranged.  If your wedding is in the winter then select fruits such as limes, clementine’s and cranberries.  Set up a few extra vases and use bridesmaid’s bouquets to fill them on arrival at the reception.  Candle wedding centerpieces, a range of candles in all shapes and sizes are often a reliable source to base your design on. When you have made some of your centerpieces, lay them out as if it was the reception, this allows to see how they will look and also give you the opportunity to make any final or added adjustments.  It is worth noting to be mindful of not exceeding a height of 12 inches so allowing all your guests to see each other and chat about your wonderful day and wedding centerpieces!
